OUR PROCESS

What every client gets as standard.

Whether you’re managing a single large site, a multi-site portfolio, or an embedded network, every engagement follows the same structured process. It’s designed to take the complexity off your plate.

Contract & Bill Review

We review your current energy contract, demand profile, tariff structure and billing to understand what you’re paying, identify issues, and establish a clear baseline for going to market.

Go to Market

We run a structured tender across multiple retailers to source competitive contract options tailored to your usage profile. No generic comparisons.

Negotiate Terms

We negotiate pricing, demand charges, contract flexibility, and conditions on your behalf. We make sure the full deal stacks up, not just the headline rate.

Placement & Changeover

Once you’ve made your decision, we manage the contract placement and coordinate the changeover end to end.

Annual Tariff Review

Throughout the life of your contract, we review your network tariff annually to make sure you’re always on the most cost-effective arrangement for your usage profile.

ADD-ON SERVICE

Ongoing Energy Support

Our procurement service gets you the right contract. Ongoing Energy Support is a separate service for operations that want continued oversight, keeping your costs optimised, your bills validated, and your tariffs under review well beyond placement.

  • Quarterly Bill Validation – We check your bills each quarter to catch errors, overcharges, or unexpected changes before they add up.

  • Quarterly Performance Review – A regular check-in on your energy performance with practical recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  • Annual Network Tariff Analysis – Network tariffs change every year. We review yours annually to make sure you’re still on the most cost-effective arrangement as your usage and the tariff structure evolve.

  • Annual Onsite Energy Audit – A hands-on site assessment to identify savings and improvement opportunities you can’t spot from the numbers alone.

FAQS

Common questions about energy audits.

If your question isn’t covered here, get in touch. We’re happy to talk it through.

What types of energy contracts do you handle?2026-03-25T16:24:07+10:00

We handle both electricity and gas contracts across the small market and large market (commercial and industrial). Whether you have a single site or a multi-site portfolio, we tailor the tender process to your usage profile, demand characteristics, and contract requirements.

When should I start reviewing my energy contract?2026-03-25T16:23:32+10:00

Ideally, three to six months before your current contract expires. This gives us enough time to analyse your usage, run a competitive tender, negotiate terms, and complete the changeover without rushing. If you’re unsure when your contract ends, we can find out for you as part of our initial review.

Will switching retailers disrupt my energy supply?2026-03-25T16:22:58+10:00

No. Switching retailers is a billing and contract change, not a physical change to your supply. The same network delivers your electricity regardless of which retailer you’re contracted with. We manage the transition so there’s no interruption to your operations.

What information do you need to get started?2026-03-25T16:22:28+10:00

A recent energy bill is the quickest starting point. It gives us your NMI (National Metering Identifier), your current rates, your usage history, and your contract details. For larger or more complex sites, 12 months of billing data or interval data helps us model your usage more accurately.

Do you work with embedded networks?2026-03-25T16:21:51+10:00

Yes. We work with embedded network operators and body corporates to review supply arrangements, assess retail options, and manage procurement across the network. Our partners bring specific experience in this area across the National Electricity Market.

What happens when my contract is up for renewal?2026-03-25T16:21:16+10:00

If you’re on our Ongoing Energy Support service, we proactively manage the renewal process for you. We monitor your contract timeline, review market conditions, and go to tender again before your contract expires. If you’re not on ongoing support, we’re always happy to re-engage for a new procurement cycle.

How is Energy Scope different from an energy comparison website?2026-03-25T16:20:40+10:00

Comparison websites are designed for quick, volume-based switching. They work well for small businesses with simple usage. For commercial and industrial operations with demand charges, complex tariff structures, and multi-site portfolios, you need a structured tender process with independent analysis. That’s what we do. We review the full picture, not just the headline rate.
