THE PROBLEM
Energy bills going up? You’re not alone.
Rising costs, aging equipment, and complex tariff structures make it hard to know where to start. An energy audit gives you the clarity to act, not guess.
AUDIT TYPES
The right level of detail for your situation.
All audits conducted in accordance with AS/NZS 3598:2014 (Parts 1 & 2).
HOW IT WORKS
From first conversation to clear action plan.
Every audit follows a structured process designed to give you clarity, not just a report that sits on a shelf.
FAQS
Common questions about energy audits.
If your question isn’t covered here, get in touch. We’re happy to talk it through.
An energy audit is a structured assessment of how your site uses energy across equipment, systems, and operations. It identifies where energy is being wasted, quantifies the cost of that waste, and provides prioritised recommendations for improvement. Our audits are conducted in accordance with the Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 3598:2014.
A Type 1 is a high-level overview, best for first-time audits or scoping. A Type 2 is a comprehensive site-wide analysis with detailed financial modelling, suitable for justifying medium-scale investment. A Type 3 is a deep dive into a specific subsystem (like HVAC or compressed air) with onsite monitoring for maximum accuracy. We’ll help you determine which type fits your situation during scoping.
It depends on the audit type and the complexity of your site. A Type 1 overview typically involves one day onsite and one to two days of analysis. A Type 2 detailed audit requires one to five days onsite depending on the size and scope, plus up to a week for data analysis and reporting. A Type 3 subsystem audit varies depending on the system being assessed and the monitoring period required. We’ll confirm timeframes during scoping.
If energy is a significant operational cost for your business, then an energy audit will provide great benefit. We work primarily with commercial, industrial, strata, embedded network, aged care, agricultural, and hospitality operations. Sites where usage is complex enough that efficiency gains aren’t obvious without a structured assessment.
The audit provides estimated savings based on your actual usage data and site conditions, not generic benchmarks. The accuracy depends on the audit type: a Type 1 uses rules of thumb and indicative figures, while a Type 2 or 3 provides more detailed cost-benefit analysis. In all cases, you’ll receive enough information to make informed decisions about where to invest.
We’ll need access to at least 12 months of energy billing data and safe access to the site for the onsite assessment. Beyond that, it helps to have any existing equipment schedules, BMS data, or maintenance records available. We’ll guide you through what’s needed during scoping. The less legwork for you, the better.
You’ll receive a clear report with prioritised, costed recommendations and a practical roadmap. From there, we can support implementation through our other services, whether that’s procurement support for a better energy contract, infrastructure advisory for solar or EV charging, or ongoing energy support to keep tracking your performance over time.
